In these internet days where you can obtain any information in a split-second at your fingertips, and for free, one can easily forget to appreciate those who make it possible.

As in this forum I've been a member of for about ten years and where I have learned a lot of things, made contact with a lot of very worthwhile people - of whom I have met quite a few in real life as a result of this initial contact. day and night I can go online and ask the most nerdy question, and within few hours I will have answers.

It's easy to forget that it doesn't come by itself. Andreas is creating the platform for us to play at, so please do as I do, support the forum by signing up for a Premium Membership now or later. I did a few weeks ago after I thought about what an important part of the internet it is.

So please, fellow forum members:

You're absolutely right, Thorsten. This is an amazing forum and group of members, and giving back a little for its continued existence and success is more than justified. It's just the right thing to do.

I subscribed January, 2011 via PayPal for 1 year in $US. It is now overdue for my willing renewal. However, for some peculiar reason, PayPal seems to think I have pinched my own identity, and refuses me entry to pay anything through their obstructive bureaucracy. A prior computer holding the details they require of my hatching and first school has spectacularly expired. I can't remember in which hospital I made my generally pointless entry into this world; you know, it was on a side street off the road going from Newtown up the hill towards the fire station : Saint Something-or-other's; so I can't even cancel PayPest's tenaciously held data on me. The Forum offers me no choice in subscrining, but PayPal when I seductively wave my spare dollars or Euros at LUF.

If they don't want me as a memner, I will bravely control my trembling lower lip, and creep off to sob piteously in private.

There is apparently some other method of payment available. I have emailed asking about such, but have had no reply. I think this forum is worth supporting, even though my sight has nealrly gone.

John.

Hi Andreas,

I was in the process of upgrading to

the Premium Membership so you

would divulge to me the "Secret

Leica Handshake" and realized

I would loose the L-Camera web sites

advertisements. They don't bother

me all that much. Sometimes they

can be informative. Is their a way I

could easily turn them on and off.

Thanks,

no hurry.

If you subscribe, you don't need to turn off the adverts if you don't want to

There is still the choice of "Leica Forum Standard"
