MarkP Posted March 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My first of a few series on Venice from January this year. Others to follow. Venice was cold, damp and shrouded in fog. I thought much better for B&W. C&C greatly appreciated. Advertisement Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Hi MarkP, Take a look here Venice, Grand Canal: aka "Gondolas, gondolas, more #@%$ing gondolas". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ulrik Posted March 23, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2011 I am deeply impressed and feel sorry now that I had to experience Venice in sunshine. Ulrik
geaibleu Posted March 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 23, 2011 Restoring the mystique of Venice is done in a remarkable fashion. Simplicity of form and tones brings back the essence of the medium: Poetry before anything else (Verlaine). Bravissimo!
stuny Posted March 23, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 23, 2011 Mark - A terrific series, moody and lovely. A few years ago I saw a short documentary on gondola builders and was amazed at the special features (a slight curve to the longitudinal axis so that oaring on one size will propel the boat in a straight line), and extensive apprenticeship, often as much as 20 years. allamande Posted March 23, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 23, 2011 A terrific series. You've captured the gondolas to satiation Great BW. The first image stands out for me, the detail into the distance creates that Venice sensation. Ece
