Advertisement Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Hi Guest stnami, Take a look here Kashgar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 13, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 13, 2006 Imants - Of course this is a fine image, with nice depth, and it tells a story. What I find remarkable is that the foreigner taking the photo has engenered neither curiosity nor warmth from the people. This is counter to my experiences in China. graham_mitchell Posted July 13, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2006 Fantastic atmosphere and composition! My only suggestion would be to use a little dodging in Photoshop to improve the lighting on the main subject (a little lighter with more contrast). Guest stnami Posted July 13, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks Graham, I tried to dodge burn and play etc but it altered the mood, so in the end I left it as is. The shot was part of a series that I did with a very second hand Leica Z2X so that could account for the indifference shown to me Stuart or they just didn't care. I spent a day with this camera.... no camera bag, no other cameras or even a backpack just a passport and a handfull of yuan
jmr Posted July 13, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2006 Imants, a timeless shot; I rather like the light and softness you've got here.
