I use a Sekonic L-308BII. It does not make mistakes.

The Leicameters can scratch the top plate and the selenium ones (MC) rarely work any more.

They sure can scratch the top!

However, in a recent post the author (sorry, forgot whom) gave some good info on how to adjust the meter's mount properly to avoid scratches.

Was it Michael Geschlecht?

Hope I got the spelling right.

Hello Falstaff,

Thank you for rembering. Pico will remember when I tell you both it was 2 of the Posts in his Thread "Restoring Scratched Chrome".

Sorry I don't know enough about computers to put in a device so you can just click & go there. The entire Thread is interesting because it also deals w/ what can be done w/ the scratched top plates.

Best Regards,

Michael

Hi

If you are going to use a clip on Leica meter then you need to use masking tape on the base plate of the meter. Punching a hole for zero adjust screw head first.

If you are going to use a digital meter the M3 will surely die of shame.

Just bought a Weston Master II for 15 GBP, including leather case incident dome and ND filter, it matches my V, except the V is now non linear at near to full scale, and will need cell replacing soon. The late ones dont seem to last more than 40 years, the early ones can do 50 +, I have five early ones with good cells and four late ones with bad cells.
