Thanks for the Promo code.

I had Pre-Ordered it and after reading your post and going to there website the promo code worked. I also received a Email from them stating the software was read for download and that my CC had been charged the full 99 bucks. So I called them and got, supposedly, the promo offer credited.

We will see when it shows up on my online CC statement.

I took the webinar on the new product yesterday and downloaded and installed it today. A lot more preecise controls make it seem pretty appealing to me.

I don't add borders much, but it has a new feature to do so. Also a bunch of new presets. And it's nice to be able to work on a white background.

Looks like an already great product much improved.

It is available in Europe also. I already had version 1 and therefore only payed 99 euros. There are some major improvements on an already mature product.

Good to hear Stig. The reason for my US specification is that almost every time I've made a Nik upgrade announcement (I like and own their entire suite), someone from the UK comes on blaming me or calling the software a piece of garbage because they couldn't download it at that precise moment. I just wanted to be clear.

Thanks guys, you all cost me 99 Euro even before I had my breakfast :D

I got the upgrade and I really like some of the new functions, the histogram 'zone system' is terrific and a really easy way to assess the tonal range. I'm going to play with it later and am sure I'll find even more things to like.

So no one is having any problems with V2 of SEP?

Well I am. Win 7 64bit, CS5. Remove version 1, install V2. Start CS5 and then a image. Click on SEP and a new layer is created and then the program, CS5 and SEP, hang. Have to go to Task Manager and force closure of CS5.

And this is with and without SP1 for Win 7.

Haven't tried it on XP yet.

Booted up XP Pro SP2 with CS5 and unistalled V1 installed V2 and other then it is SLOW it works.

Now to figure out my Win 7 64bit problem.

I did reinstall V1 on that OS so I'll try installing over the top. But NIK suggests to uninstall the older version.

Upgraded last night onto my iMac and aperture .....

somehow it wiped my aperture registration info so that it wouldn't open without entering the serial number....... which of course I couldn't locate and caused a fair degree of panic !!

turned up in a saved pdf squirreled away somewhere obscure amongst a gazillion other docs....

V2 works fine and has some nice new features....

Thanks to the OP for the heads-up on availability and for the discount code! The code did indeed give me a 15% discount on my upgrade.

I'm using Silver Efex on PS CS5 on a Mac and did have some trouble getting rid of the previous version. Despite running the uninstall feature from the setup program for version 1, version 1 would not go away! I finally had to locate it in the plug-ins folder for PS and drag it to the trash to get rid of it.

Version 2 works great, all of the new presets are helpful.

Have found a problem with V2 in that it seems to open with a vey low contrast image that bears no relation to the image in LR3. I have no problem with V1 and this basically makes it unuseable

Is the "Film Type" in the right panel Neutral by default?

I'm on a Mac Pro with latest OS and it's fast and works perfectly in LR and CS5.

Yes I think I know what you mean, the image is flat and out of focus if V2 opens at the default size (centre of screen). I reported this to Nik as a bug yesterday. If I open the same image in V1 its sharp, in V2 its OOF. V2 opens by default (in CS5/Win 7) with both side bars open (the profiles on the left and the tools on the right) as does V1, and I've never used it any other way.

You can get a sharp image if you close either of the side bars or have V2 set for full screen. Its a wonder nobody at Nik could see this before offering it for sale, and the beta testers must have been asleep.

I don't use LR3, just CS5, but I don't think I'm having any problems with differing contrast when I'm using V2 full screen (sharp image, normal contrast) but I imagine the poor flat and OOF default size image is going to get a skewed amount of processing to compensate, so will reflect this when back in LR3.
