d2mini Posted February 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm looking for pro quality photo/negative edge effects, in either software/plugin form or layered photoshop files. Anyone have anything to point me towards? Thanks!

250swb Posted February 26, 2011 Share #3 Posted February 26, 2011 If you mean photographic borders, like you could get by printing a neg in a darkroom with a film strip border, then the new Silver Efex Pro 2 has some presets. Apparently depending on the image they never give exactly the same look twice, as would happen with printing real negs, so are perhaps better than some other software. Of course they also offer the straight forward type of border, black, grey etc. as well, but those are easy in Photoshop anyway. Steve
Bill Allsopp Posted February 26, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2011 try 50 free photo frames and borders for Photoshop | Techniques | PhotoRadar It's the only one I know of, I haven't tried them myself so don't know if you could edit to your own taste etc.

Steve Thanks, maybe I need to upgrade to version 2! try 50 free photo frames and borders for Photoshop | Techniques | PhotoRadar It's the only one I know of, I haven't tried them myself so don't know if you could edit to your own taste etc. Thank you, I did happen to find those. I was also recommended OnOne's Photo Frame software but there is a bunch of other background junk that I don't want to pay for. Not sure just the edges are worth it, although the software does look kinda slick.
Ecar Posted March 1, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 1, 2011 If you are a LR user, you may want to try this: LR/Mogrify 2 - Add Watermarks, Border and Text Annotions to Images Exported by Adobe Lightroom 2 A bit cumbersome to learn/use, but fairly flexible and more functions than just adding borders. And all that is required is a donation if you decide to keep it. However, I don't think it provides the kind of borders you are looking for.
