Advertisement Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Hi LinsBarroso, Take a look here What is the most beatiful : The X1 Black x The X1 Steel Grey. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jsrockit Posted February 10, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted February 10, 2011 I own the silver, but prefer the black. I'll go as far as to say the black X1 is one of my favorite looking cameras of all time. However, why would you let someone else decide for you? Â Perhaps you should make your choice on preferred color and preferred leather style?
elbonedeedo Posted February 10, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted February 10, 2011 I have the steel grey version. I just prefer that look. It's personal, right? If you can try them both out in person, that's better. The grey is much darker in person IMHO.
Paul Hart Posted February 10, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted February 10, 2011 Pedantry demands that I correct your question to, 'Which is the more beautiful...' Â Anyway, the answer is the black X1.

earleygallery Posted February 11, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted February 11, 2011 Personally, unless you really need the camera now, I'd wait until the X100 is out, compare and decide then. Of course the X100 is only available in chrome so far.
ezc203 Posted February 11, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted February 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Personally I prefer the silver one... If only it didn't come with that hideous "shark-skin" covering. *shudders* If it came with vulcanite? Woo...

Of course the X100 is only available in chrome so far. Â Someone outside of the US posted that they ordered a black one.. but i can't find anything about it.. spylaw4 Posted February 11, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted February 11, 2011 Can't people make up their own minds? The "most beautiful" is the one YOU like the look of best, others will have different viewpoints. Only you can decide. Â As Andy said - "It's a camera"
eelekim Posted February 11, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted February 11, 2011 I've got one in black. My previous one is in steel gray. Both look great in different ways. As LinsBarroso said, the steel gray one looks classic. The black one looks stylish and stealthy to me. And I prefer the look of the vulcanite on the black one. Â Besides the look, the black X1 seems to be better built. For example, the battery compartment cover much better fits with the bottom. The aperture wheel is stiffer. I just hope the shutter speed wheel is as stiff. It's moved accidentally easily... Is there any way to adjust its tightness? Â The leather case I bought again is also better. Not as tight as before. I can open and close the cover with the lens cap on easily. I remember I couldn't do that with my old case. The cap was pulled off every time I opened the cover! Annoying, isn't it? Will see if the JJC self-retracting lens cap work with the case.

Allnm Posted February 11, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted February 11, 2011 I bought the steel grey one. There were only a few retailers with the X1 in stock and the best prices were from a company who only had the black one. I paid a little more for mine. The black one didnt do it for me! If only it didn't come with that hideous "shark-skin" covering. *shudders* If it came with vulcanite? Woo... earleygallery Posted February 11, 2011 Share #18 Â Posted February 11, 2011 Which is why I'm in the process of having Leica replace my grey X1's peeling skin with the vulcanite from the black X1. Â It's not vulcanite, they don't do vulcanite any more, it's leatherette/vinyl I think, it definately looks better than the stuff they stick to the grey ones. leic Posted February 11, 2011 Share #20 Â Posted February 11, 2011 I would prefer the black. The design is based on the Leica I, and these had similar leather and the most of them in black.
