Advertisement Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Hi davidmires, Take a look here Maser. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted January 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 23, 2007 David, now that's one excellent shot - could have been taken when the car was new.
blovitch Posted January 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2007 Excellent shot. I was at the Panini Museum over the weekend...Some truly magnificent cars in his collection. My Quattroporte now feels decidely ordinary. -Tim
stuny Posted January 23, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 23, 2007 David - I remember liking the older one, but this IS better!. It's as though we've stepped into a time machine for the Panamerican Road Race.
biglouis Posted January 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2007 Calendar quality (and I mean that as a compliment) shot. So perfect I want to hang my camera up. LouisB
lambroving Posted January 24, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 24, 2007 Nice, nice, nice! Liked the old one but this is MUCH better.
andybarton Posted January 24, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a great shot. I have looked at it in Photoshop, and it's even better when a slight caste is removed. Nice work.
neila Posted January 24, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 24, 2007 The sort of shot that, for me, has everything. Lovely....
abrewer Posted January 24, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 24, 2007 A slobber-knocker!!! Really, a superb shot. Where is this? It kind of looks like New Mexico or far West Texas (El Paso). What cast are you seeing Andy? Some magenta in the road maybe? It looks pretty clear to me, but I haven't pulled it down into PS or anything. Thanks. davidmires Posted January 24, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks for the kind words everyone. Allan - It was taken in Colorado, during the "Colorado Grand" rally in 2005. This is southbound on hwy. 82, just south of Glenwood Springs. Re: color - Andy is right. I have had a hard time getting the cast removed. It was shot on Velvia, early in the (cold)morning, and the color on the slide was pretty funky to begin with. I think it's slightly better with this adjustment, but I am certainly open to suggestions for further improvement...
andybarton Posted January 24, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 24, 2007 David With your permission, later I will post what I did to your shot over my cocoa-pops this morning I certainly can't judge on this PC screen here.
abrewer Posted January 24, 2007 Share #12 Posted January 24, 2007 ... over my cocoa-pops ... LOL! I'm koo-koo for cocoa-pops! You may not have ever heard that one Andy. Rememer the bird? Thanks. Allan
davidmires Posted January 24, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted January 24, 2007 Andy, The full size version doesn't look too bad, but the sky is still a bit funky... I suppose it's hard to judge technical stuff by looking at low-res jpgs though:rolleyes: I really don't like what the "save for web" PS feature does to photos, I just haven't bothered to learn another way to re-size them... As far as editing and re-posting my photo goes, sure, give it a shot. In this situation I would like to see how you would improve the color. I do appreciate that you asked first. Cheers, David. Peter41951 Posted January 24, 2007 Share #14 Posted January 24, 2007 The car is lovely, of course, but I do like the background - it has a really old-fashioned look suiting the period of the car.
neila Posted January 24, 2007 Share #15 Posted January 24, 2007 I think that's why I liked it so much Peter - but I couldn't work out why......
