oskarhhh Posted January 8, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a replacement battery (not original) for my digilux 2. It`s a 7.4V 1500mAh battery, the original is 7.2V 1400mAh. Can the extra voltage damage the camera? Thanks

pitti Posted January 8, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2011 I use replacements 7.4V the last 5 years too with no problems. Regards Peter
Digitom Posted January 8, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 8, 2011 Also the battery for Diliglux 3 may work in Digilux 2, I think it also has different voltage, but not sure. The mAh is slightly higher, means it works some pics longer. But I recommend to buy only original batteries or some from a good 3rd part brand. pop Posted January 8, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 8, 2011 The D3 battery does indeed work in the D2.
John Thawley Posted January 10, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 10, 2011 The D3 battery does indeed work in the D2. You can buy the Digilux 3 equivalent from Panasonic. It is more money than the Digilux 2 battery but it has more amp hours... lasting longer.
Moment Posted May 16, 2012 Share #6 Posted May 16, 2012 Has anyone ever tried these from Sterlingtek: Panasonic DMC-LC5 Battery ? I've owned sterlingteks for my 5d with no problems whatsoever - just wondering if anyone's had success with these in their d2's. I'd rather go with a 3rd party I'm familiar with than an "ebay brand." thanks! Dave
ajthornbury Posted May 20, 2012 Share #7 Posted May 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Both Hanel and Energiser equivalents for either D2 or D3 will work with no problems. Both are of good quality and almost as good as the original.

JohnL Posted August 29, 2012 Share #11 Posted August 29, 2012 Both Hanel and Energiser equivalents for either D2 or D3 will work with no problems. Both are of good quality and almost as good as the original. Would you have a code no or reference for those items ajthornbury? Would be grateful for a link if you have one. I am a new owner of a D2 which I fell for at its first fondling - lol - so if anyone still reads this site- HI! and I look forward to getting many years good of photography out of it. Thanks JohnL
Guest Jim 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Share #12 Posted August 30, 2012 Welcome to the D2 world, John. I've only had my Digilux 2 about 5 months, but it's really starting to grow on me now. I love how easy the main settings dials are to use and its retro styling. I purchased a 7.2 Volt Li-on digital camera battery (part # B-9591) from eBatts.com for my D2 and have had no problems with it so far. $17.00 + $3.00 ship.
