Marquinius Posted January 5, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm not even sure where I read it it, but this is a smart thingy! When you're in development mode (the second panel in LR), you can get overwhelmed by all the open drop down boxes.Especially when you have to scroll between standard tools and tools that are more to he bottom, it becomes annoying quickly. So here's the tip: scroll down in either the left or the right toolset until you reach the area right under the last drop down box, right click in that area and choose "solo modus". As from that moment, only the box you actually use is open and the rest stay closed until you click on one of them. Here's a screenshot, albeit in Dutch (but you'll get the idea) Have fun. jaapv Posted January 5, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2011 Another solution is to get your image on one sceen and your tools on another
Marquinius Posted January 5, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted January 5, 2011 oooh, yes. I have my iPad coupled as a second screen. But I'm still looking into getting my LR tools as a stand alone box (ISO linked to the overall workplace).
karuba Posted January 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2011 Jaap, how do you get the tools in Lightroom 3 on a second screen? Thanks Timo
Marquinius Posted January 21, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted January 21, 2011 Jaap, how do you get the tools in Lightroom 3 on a second screen? Thanks Timo Good question. That would mean untangling the LR dashboard somehow. I can manage to get the dual screen mode on my side monitor, but that's just for checking and watching, not for tools. For all other progs it's simple. And now I coupled the iPad to the iMac through a small app called "display pad", which works fab as well. But the tools ... So Jaap, educate us, please
Marty Posted January 21, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 21, 2011 Strictly speaking you can achieve what Jaap suggested by moving your entire Lightroom window so that just your tools are on the other screen
