kidigital Posted December 31, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I believe that I read somewhere that Leica was considering adding a 100/2 lens to the S line. I'm hoping that it's a lens that isn't too far off. The extra step from f2.5 to f2 could help push my ability to carry the S2 into more nighttime opportunities without flash. Plus, the thinner depth of field would be an intriguiging option to be able to add to the mix. I also think that it would be interesting to see Leica push the f2 to f1.5-f1.8 to create a signature low light lens for the system much like the Noctilux is to the M line. It would add to the mystique of the system and add extra shooting flexibility in less well-lit situations. DOF too thin to focus, humbug, look at how sharp the optics team has made that Noctilux ASPH at f0.95.

tom0511 Posted January 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2011 Kurt, I dount f2 would add any real benefit regaridng low light over f2.5? I can see the influence on shallow DOF. By the way-do you know if Rollei lenses can be used on the S2 as well? Regards,Tom

Currently, you can use Pentax 67, Hasselblad V (CF or FE), and manual focus Mamiya 645 lenses with adapters on the S2. David

gdb Posted January 3, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 3, 2011 Tom, I have once seen on eBay an adapter for Rolleiflex SL66 lenses on Leica S2 for something like $ 750. This adapter was made in the Far East and included a bellows system that allowed focusing (manual) and tilting & shifting for those lenses. It looked serious... Maybe you can make a search in this direction too... Cheers Gérard

No color shift whatsoever. David

I was more curious if there is a way to use my 110/2.0 Rollei handheld on a S2 (which I want to check out). Not so much interested in bellows etc.
