Hello Again Dan,

On looking thru this thread again I noticed some dust on your lenses & M4 viewfinder windows. Everything looks to be in really nice condition BTW.

Given the low # of your Posts is it inappropriate to ask if you know how to remove that dust in a manner that will not damage the coatings/glass surfaces?

Best Regards,

Michael

That is very thoughtful of you. Thanks for taking the time to mention it. You are quite right to assume that I am a Leica novice.

Being acutely aware of my lack of experience with the Leica equipment - and worried about the fact that the M4 and the lenses had not been used for a couple of decades - I sent the camera and three lenses to Sherry Krauter early this year (I am writing on New Year's Eve!) and they arrived back in the first week of April 2010. The shutter curtains were replaced and the M4 had a general clean, lube and adjust. The lenses had a CLA.

Now they feel wonderful and look beautiful. Unfortunately my time has been so limited that I have only shot a few rolls with them since. I must start an album here to show what it can produce.

(*just added an album of 3 shots with the 50mm after it returned - using an old sekonic for incident)

The camera and the 50mm looked like the first of these shots when I received them:

[i don't yet know how to get the attached photo to sit precisely below a line of text and then to follow it with more text]

It now looks like the second photo (and the glass of the 50 Summicron, the Summaron 35 and Elmar f4 90 are as clear as crystal.
