Is GIFTSIX saga headed for conclusion?

Today I recieved an email which provided me a valid tracking number for something destined to someone in Australia. Understandably the hongkongpost dot com doesnt provide actual name and destination.

Under the circumstances the package will be signed for then opened in the presence of Aust Post staff, and I have made seller well aware of this.

This is a startling turn of event. Last night I was going ot post the "latest sordid installment" which would detail the no tracking number, another failure to dispatch pending for security reasons my provision to him of my christian name and which he already had, and a mail I recieved from the seller in which it was implied I was engaged in blackmail.

I am really ready to be over all this. FIngers crossed.

Rob -this is very good news for you. I hope the package is what you expect. I am still struggling with them -the tracking number they sent me is still producing no response from the Hong Kong Post Office site. And although they said they would find out what has happened to it I have heard nothing more from them in ove a week, in spite of further emails from me. But I take some heart from your news, and will be interested to see what arrives!

I was seriously thinking about buying a Summilux asph 50mm from Giftsix.Considering all the taxes I probably have to pay here I finally decided to look around for one here in Germany and buy it here. It´s not so much more expensive from Giftsx´s price.

Reading the stories above I think I´ve made the right decision. I cross my fingers, too, and

hope the end will be a good one...

  • 9 months later...

I see that a lot of people have the same issues as I have now

I even have created giftsix.com, to let the internet know (and hopefully, people will search google before buying)... I am already waiting 72 days now, and as others mention eBay is not much of an help either (although I bought it via eBay...)

I will put other people on this, because this kind of behaviour is outrageous !!!

Things that already happened to that lens :

* one month of no communication (so called problems with his mailserver - yahoo ???)

* then the lens got stuck at the transporter (though still did not receive any tracking number)

* then after another two weeks, the lens is indeed lost (but I got insurance)

* then after another week (after sending him a lot of mails through ebay), he tells me that I have to wait another 10 business days... this is taking already more than 2 months...

eBay user GIFTSIX has got nothing to do with me, but it seemed to me that this domain was free... so I couldn't think of a better domain name...
