leicamr Posted December 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have bought an LX 5. I am very pleased with the image results. I did want to use the video function but find that the image stabiliser makes a noise that is captured on the recording. It is loudest with the longest lens setting. Can anybody advise if this is normal or not? Mark

Digitom Posted December 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2010 I have bought an LX 5. I am very pleased with the image results. I did want to use the video function but find that the image stabiliser makes a noise that is captured on the recording. It is loudest with the longest lens setting. Can anybody advise if this is normal or not? Mark Until now I did not hear anything when zooming in or out, neuther from the zoom nor from the stabiliser. But I have to say it was in normal surroundings (streets), so the noise may not be heard. But I will try to check it and if I hear something I will post here. jpetermann Posted December 12, 2010 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2010 I have the D-lux 5 and same behavior. The stabilizer is very noisy. I doesn't use that much the film mode, but if I need it I will switch off the stabilizer.
MPJMP Posted December 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 13, 2010 I notice it, but find it very subtle. So far, it has not been enough to prompt me to disable that feature, as it does smooth things out a lot.
