Advertisement Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Dead Battery? Or something else?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
WestMichigan Posted December 6, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 6, 2010 BigLouis, My apologies for my hurried and abrupt phrasing. Lack of verbosity isn't usually my Modus Operandi, but a Mea Culpa is owed and now given. I would say that bringing up a known firmware fault with similar presenting symptomology is spot on good thinking. When someone is having a camera issue right after buying a new battery charger doesn't mean the two data points are intrinsically linked. While prudent and reasonable to start by verifying the new item, it doesn't mean any other cause isn't possible. Richard in MIchigan Pardon me! But as an aside - people will experience once in a while a firmware lock up which has the same conditions - the red led will flash once each time the shutter is pressed but nothing happens. If it helps to know how to cold reset the camera then perhaps my post was worthwhile...
jaapv Posted December 6, 2010 Share #23 Posted December 6, 2010 But it makes one stop and wonder how many faults have been misidentified as firmware errors, which were in fact related to the battery.
