samtotana Posted November 24, 2011 Share #21 Posted November 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting to read of the odd serial numbering .The ser. no. on my MD2 is followed by the letter D. Am I correct in thinking this means it has been repaired by the factory? It also has a chrome shutter speed dial. It doesn't matter to me as I love the old thing . Sunny 16 , hyperfocal with a view finder . Simple stuff that makes a huge change from digital

sandro Posted November 25, 2011 Share #23 Posted November 25, 2011 Parts like a shutter speed dial or transport lever can be changed by any technician, I don't think it means that in your case it was done in the factory. Sometimes it seems however that simply available parts were used, also when this made the body differ from the usual appearance. My MDa has the transport lever of the M4, whereas usually the older style (M3 and M2) was fitted. Lex
