IkarusJohn Posted November 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) With stories of hard to find lenses, largely unjustified criticism of Leica doing something they are passionate about and try to do as well as can be done, questionable eBay traders and dealers demanding deposits or full payment for lenses they don't have, I thought we should share our good experiences. I finally tracked down a hard to find lens the other day - I'd been looking worldwide online, and was told about delays, year long waiting lists etc, and I stumbled on Ken Hansen in New York. He was helpful and informative, but he didn't have the lens. Then he sent me an email last week while I was eating my breakfast - he had the lens, and did I want it? I put down my knife and replied yes, I certainly did. The price was the list price, and he sent it off by courier the same day - send me a cheque, he said. What a nice man! Advertisement Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here Good dealers in an age of (dis)information and (dis)trust. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted November 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2010 Jpohn - You've described Ken well. Fortunately, he's not alone. Bergen County Camera, run by brothers Bob and Tom is another, across the river in northern NJ.

richfx Posted November 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 24, 2010 Allen Leichter, owner of Allen's Cameras, Inc. in Levittown, PA is the same kind of guy. I e-mailed him last week asking to be placed on the new 35mm Summilux waiting list and received an e-mail from him an hour later advising that he had just received one. I bought it right away. Same story with a 50mm Summilux ASPH in February. Allen couldn't be nicer or more professional, and is a pleasure to deal with. Rich
