haat01 Posted January 14, 2013 Share #21 Posted January 14, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I hade Leica M8 since 2005 and now bay a M9P in Dec 2012 and have had problem "black missing frame". I have change SD card from 32 to 8 ScanDisk Extrem and it is better but still problem mostly with Leica 24D flash. On M8 I just use aperture priority (A) with the flash and if the flash not was reedy the M8 will take a picture with longer Shutter speeds but yet a picture. With my M9P, if a use aperture priority (A) many time get a black missing frame with a file size like 386 kb and shutter speeds 1/180 and in light room it is written "flash activated". If I use Flash sync speed I got the same problem with black missing photo at 1/180. Is a problem with the electronic in M9?? I have change to a new Leica 24D flash from the shop and also a new batter for the M9 the SD card is formatted in the M9 with “overwrite” Welcome, dear visitor! wattsy Posted December 29, 2013 Share #26 Posted December 29, 2013 Actually, it has worked out well in the end. Rather than wait 4-6 weeks for a 8 week-old camera to be repaired, Richard Caplan and Leica are exchanging it for me. Quite gratifying as I am not expected to see another Christmas and 4-6 weeks is a significant proportion of my remaining lifespan. Impressively, I have unexpectedly outlived an M-series Leica camera. It's a miracle! Flickr: drewleavy's Photostream It's quite sad to read this in a thread so old and there is something rather poignant seeing the OP's once active Flickr photostream remain online. Drew Leavy apparently died in July 2011.
exile Posted December 29, 2013 Share #27 Posted December 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, very sad Ian. There are some lovely shots in that photo stream as well. He evidently continued to shoot during his treatment. Very moved.
