Leica Virgin Posted November 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) On D-Lux 4, there is the option of putting a lense adapter, such as Lensemate and Pandabase. There is a thread where you screw the adapter in. I am wondering if you can do the same thing on a D-Lux 5. I like the idea of being able to add filters and plus it protects the lense. Leica Virgin Posted November 19, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted November 19, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I believe this works.DMW-LA6 Conversion Lens Adapter for LX-5 Camera Is this mounted the same way as in DLux4, because I tried to turn (unscrew) the outer rings on DLux5, but none seems to turn. I am afraid to apply to much pressure since I not sure if that was the right thing to do. Has anyone mounted one these on a DL5? Thanks for the help. ians Posted November 19, 2010 Share #8 Posted November 19, 2010 yes - the panasonic lens adaptor for LX5 fits perfectly on the Dlux5. I leave the lens cap in place when unscrewing the back ring - just makes it easier to grip. ian

Virg, I may be misunderstanding, but if you're unsure which ring to unscrew, this picture of the D-Lux 4 may help: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/79096-nikon-2x-converter-d-lux-4-a.html#post826107. jankap Posted November 22, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 22, 2010 jj, same question you and I raised a month ago at http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/146238-d-lux-5-battery-question.html. Still waiting for a definitive answer. Just need for someone to try it. Any day now... The second battery question. I bought a second battery for my Dlux-4. This was not necessary. Also during holidays (Italy, Japan) I could load the first battery in the evening. No problem for a "normal" production rate. Jan
Shootist Posted November 22, 2010 Share #15 Posted November 22, 2010 Is this mounted the same way as in DLux4, because I tried to turn (unscrew) the outer rings on DLux5, but none seems to turn. It is the ring directly behind where the lens cap fits. In fact with that ring removed the lens cap has nothing to grab onto. So it is the ring the lens cap fits into. Make sure you don't cross thread it when putting it back on. Both parts are plastice and can easily be cross threaded.
