ryee3 Posted November 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone purchased a L mount from RRS for a R9/DMR? They make one for the S2, M8 and M9. The sales person thought an MC-L would work but wasn't sure. Please let me know what model to purchase before I do a trial and error approach since they don't make one specifically for the R9/DMR. Thanks:)

stuny Posted November 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2010 It isn't clear to me: What lenses are you trying to adapt to what camera?

ryee3 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted November 5, 2010 It isn't clear to me: What lenses are you trying to adapt to what camera? The RRS L mount would be attached to the R9/DMR body and then attached onto a quick release mono or tripod. I would then use whatever R lenses for the given occasion. Hope that is clearer. Sorry for any confusion.
glenerrolrd Posted November 5, 2010 Share #5 Posted November 5, 2010 Back a few years ago we tried to get RRS to produce a custom L plate for the R9/DMR . They didn t feel they could sell enough to make it worthwhile. There wasn t anything else like it on the market . The MC-L plate works "fair on a Leica M" but to my taste would be flimsy for a R9/DMR. Depending on the length of your lenses ..starting at 100mm you can use a rotating mount on the lens itself . I believe on the 100mm 2.8 APO its an St-1 ring ?
