Lugging that around soon becomes work and not fun.

Just my point of view, some may like to carry around 15 to 20+ pounds of gear.

I think anyone paying $2k for the spotting scope on top of the cost of their camera IS lugging it around for work. This is aimed at professional wildlife photographers. It would also be useful for astronomy and the adapter can be used to attach the cameras to Leica's microscopes for research work.

This is true but still better to get a SLR liker R8 or R9 and the big lenses.

My beast I used a few years back on my MP I also tried it on my M9 but after only one trip to the marsh and about a 15 mile hike in 90 degree heat I sold the scope. This system I was using was better for body building then picture taking.

Just my thoughts. Jan

I also imagine that you lose quite a bit of speed on a lens shooting through a scope.

Well it is better with a Digital M than the MP only because you can shoot higher speeds than with film. I never went over asa 400 on my MP.

I miss that camera should not have sold it.

Cheers Jan
