You can't use the right angle eyepiece as it hits the top of the camera. I hope to do close ups with ti. M8 is amazing camera. More I use it the more I love the pictures. Some Visoflex-shots here: LeicaM8 The M8 works with the Visoflex, but you need some practise (crop!). And using a flash is not easy (finder hides the hotshoe in most cases). The "finger" of the Visoflex is not in the center of the release-button but it works. The Visoflex covers the external lightsensor, so some things don´t work as well as with standard-lenses. Ron Crop is no problem: This is how I did it: Needed : Stiff clear plastic, about 0.3 mm thick. I used the entrance-pass holder to the Photokina, but many hospitals use similar stuff to put their appointment cards in, for instance. Millimetre paper Sellotape Scalpel no 15 or some very sharp, small hobbyknife Jewellers screwdriver 3 mm. Some kind of loupe to work under (I used surgical telescope glasses) Piece of cardboard to protect your table top when cutting, for domestic peace's sake I stuck a piece of plastic to the millimetre paper and cut a rectangle of 27x18 mm. This is surprisingly easy to do freehand. Then I cut the outside of the mask to 37x25 mm, centering the inner window. I opened up the pentaprism housing of the Visoflex (don't worry, there is nothing difficult or critical in reassembling) by unscrewing the six screws on the bottom. The lens inside can remain in its place, but if it does fall out, simply put back. Sellotape the bottom plate to the millimetre paper. the inside up and aligning it with the lines. Now line up the mask in the round depression, use small pieces of Sellotape (outside the viewfinder window of course, otherwise you'll see them afterwards) to fix it exactly centered in your viewfinder window and cut off the corners to make it lay flat in the depression. Reassemble the pentaprism housing, thereby fixing the mask firmly in place. When using the Visoflex now you'll see narrow black lines framing the sensor format of the M8, making it compatible with film and digital. The nice thing about putting it in the pentaprism housing is that you are working after the matte screen, thus having no chance of messing up the calibration of the Visoflex. Also the Tri was an early pre-production-lens that time. I'm interested in what you set your WATE to (16, 18 or 21) with the shots on your site and how you like it? The paper is just the guide to help you cut out the mask and to centre it in the opening of the chrome part of the pentaprism.The mask ends up being pressed under the chrome agains the bottom of the mount of the condensor lens. If you don't mind a grotty shot, I have no macro setup here, so it is a 100% crop of a not great picture.... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I did it on the Viso III model which has an exchangeable screen (pull out in front) by making black dots at the right places and drawing a thin black line between the dots using washable marker pen. Have used the 125 Hektor and lens heads of several others as a trial. Will test the old glass one by one to see how they do on the M8. Maybe the rest of us should petition Leica to make a single run of the Viso III again, maybe 10k pieces at $10k per unit? Plus a smaller number of the M bellows at a higher price?
