Advertisement Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Paris, Canal St Martin in winter . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cocker Posted January 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2007 Steve, I like this a lot - great composition and lovely tonal range.
pendevour Posted January 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2007 Very good shot showing a super reflection. Maybe losing a bit off the top would make it stronger for me. All a matter of taste really.
martinop Posted January 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2007 Like the composition + the impact of the reflection.
stunsworth Posted January 15, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted January 15, 2007 Thanks for all the comments. Maybe losing a bit off the top would make it stronger for me. All a matter of taste really Indeed. I have to say that I like the stark trees at the top of the image. There is a little bit cropped from the bottom of the frame to move the emphasis upwards a little, but I wouldn't want to loose the tree branches - in fact if anything I'd like a little bit more :-)
larry Posted January 15, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2007 Steve, I agree, it would improve this very strong composition to have a little more tree at the top. It seems hard to believe you ignored this one. Larry
stuny Posted January 15, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve - Gorgeous, classic composition with lovely details, tones and contrast.
robert_parker Posted January 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 15, 2007 An under-rated part of Paris but a neat composition - and the little guy is there again -(hope he's not still looking for his kite !!)
stunsworth Posted January 15, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted January 15, 2007 Robert, it's a prop I carry around with me :-) Actually he's probably looking for Amelie. If you've seen the French film of the same name there's a scene where's she's skimming stones on the canal just underneath this bridge.
farnz Posted January 16, 2007 Share #10 Posted January 16, 2007 Steve, an excellent image that is strengethened by the focal point of the man on the bridge and his reflection. Great feeling of space. Pete.
