phancj Posted October 22, 2010 Share #21 Â Posted October 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Right now when the dust has settled it appears the X1 is sometimes still in short supply, but from where I am M9s are readily available. I see dealers with at least a set mostly black. The silver (which I prefer) has disappeared... Â The lens are out though...almost all the cron and lux, loads of summarit around. Â Dunno what it means, maybe the X1 is popular, or that it is more affordable, or Leica makes less of it, whatever...

jsrockit Posted October 22, 2010 Share #25 Â Posted October 22, 2010 Ah, they didn't tell you about the Panda one then? Or the Safari? Â Well, they did say that 500 Hello Kitty models will be made... but they were very secretive about the other special editions.
Guest badbob Posted October 22, 2010 Share #26 Â Posted October 22, 2010 Well, they did say that 500 Hello Kitty models will be made... but they were very secretive about the other special editions. Â I would buy one of those Hello Kitty versions as long as it has some semblance of Leica quality. Most of the HK merchandise has a look that says the brand owners don't care what junk is sold with their logo. So a quality HK item would be unique on that basis alone. ChiILX1 Posted October 22, 2010 Author Share #30 Â Posted October 22, 2010 Â I hope fools like you enjoy ruling your kingdom of online forums where you get to make up for so much by questioning the relevance of any question you don't know the answer to. And if that's you in the picture, it's clear there is much you have to make up for! Â If it's not limited edition and no one has any idea as to the production capacity then the question is answered. mjh Posted October 22, 2010 Share #31  Posted October 22, 2010 If it's not limited edition and no one has any idea as to the production capacity then the question is answered. Your question isn’t of the kind that can be answered; that much should be obvious to everyone by now. When a model isn’t a limited edition – and Leica says so if it is – then it will continue to be in production until either the demand drops to a level where continuing to manufacture it stops being worthwhile, or the vendor introduces a successor and needs all the production capacity there is for the new model. In other words: Nobody knows, probably not even Leica; only time will tell.
