Hank Taylor Posted October 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems that when I try to send in my pictures lately they are rejected because of size. That why I have to go use a small jpg size. I'm wondering if I should include a smaller jpg set up in my camera along with a raw file when shooting. stuny Posted October 19, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 19, 2010 Hank - I'd still shoot with as much resolution as possible for other uses, but resize for the Internet. In the case of the Forum, no side larger than 960 pixels, and a file size smaller than about 250 kb (I'm not sure of the exact amount). If your pixels are few enough but you file size is still too large you need to reduce the resolution (dots per inch) a bit.
stunsworth Posted October 19, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 19, 2010 Hank - I'd still shoot with as much resolution as possible for other uses, but resize for the Internet. If your pixels are few enough but you file size is still too large you need to reduce the resolution (dots per inch) a bit. It's around 300k as a maximum size - 303k from memory. Resolution - as in DPI - is irelevant on a screen. If the file size is too large after resizing you need to reduce the Jpeg quality setting until the size dips below 300k.
