Snakepottery Posted October 28, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted October 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for all your valuable comments and suggestions. Main issue at the moment is that no one wants to buy my Zeiss 28mm!! Looks like it will end up having to go on ebay and I'll have to pay the exorbitant sellers/Paypal fees. Advertisement Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Hi Snakepottery, Take a look here 18 or 21 or 24mm lens for M8?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted October 30, 2010 Share #22 Posted October 30, 2010 Another to ponder is the 21mm f/2.8 Kobalux lens, which imho is an outstanding lens; it is superbly built, has silky smooth focus and aperture action, has exceptionally low distortion, and is very inexpensive. It's larger than the CV 21/4 but is a stop faster and no more expensive and has no problems with metering TTL like the 21/3.4 Super Angulon does. Sean Reid's review was highly complimentary. They can be difficult to find but are also sold under the Avenon brand (same lens). It's a screw-mount lens so you'll need a M-LTM adaptor. Pete. ramosa Posted November 2, 2010 Share #23 Posted November 2, 2010 the super-elmar 18 is a fine lens. i have one, which i have only used a few times for landscapes. i really need to experiment with it more, so that i can learn to use it in different environs. steamboat Posted November 7, 2010 Share #24 Posted November 7, 2010 I go between the 21mm f2.8 Elmarit and the 35mm f1.4 Summilux asph. That said, while in NYC a week ago I made the mistake of putting the 24mm f1.4 Summilux on my M8.2. I knew it was a mistake but decided to torture myself anyway. The pictures at f1.4 were superb and the background well out of focus. Since it uses the widest frame (built-in) in the M8 it's wonderful. I've never been a big fan of the 24mm on FF but on the M8 at 1.33x it's great. I can dream can't I? Good luck with your lens choice. Sorry my answer was no help.
