stunsworth Posted October 7, 2010 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2010 I haven't read the Kelby book (or the Evening for that matter), but every time I've come across anything he's written or said on the internet his 'humour' grates. If you can get over that you'll be ok. If you want to read free samples of either of the books then Amazon has a chapter or so of each available on its Kindle store. I am altogether new to post-processing.Thanks LeicaBraz, I found an early book by Kelby very irritating to read, more especially when referencing material. I much prefer Evening's books for their thoroughness, practicality, illustrations and relationships to real world photo projects. I urge you not to muddle through; you will still be puzzling over it or missing useful tools and techniques when later versions of LR arrive to confuse your understanding. Search the web, starting at Adobe's own site, and work through some free on-line tutorials. Register and use the Adobe forums. Search for available material and answers to questions (FAQs). Members are extremely generous in giving time to answer individual questions so long as you have searched the help database first. If you have access to half-day or whole day training courses, try to budget time for one of those. You will get more out of it if you have gone a little way up the learning curve first. Some photographers offer one-to-one training for a fee. Some people prefer that method. Lots of help out there to get you up and running. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
