I can't believe they're charging $99 for bent paperclips in a hot shoe. Yikes!

I was just thinking, yeah - bend those paperclips until you get precise framing. As long as you don't have to keep re-bending them (sigh).

True, but how about his time making sure it is precise as a finder of this sort can be. I'm sure if we went about making one of these with paperclips, we'd waste more than $99 of our time.

Ok, got this in the mail a few days ago. I tried it and could see its benefit, but honestly, it wasn't for me (as I actually prefer a little bit of tunnel vision i.e. black borders). I am returning mine, but I can state that it is well made and relatively durable. It does not go out of whack easily and is certainly not bendable like paper clips.

Sorry to go on a bit but as youve tried it.........could you frame accuratly or at least do you feel that with a little accustomisation you would be confident of the framing and also could you achieve a sort of virtual frame by leaving both eyes open(not explained very well).Im thinking that by having both eyes open the out of focus frame will be a sort of slight though significant presense..........maybe I should just buy one,.:)

Well, framing accurately would depend entirely on how accurate you set your eye to the frame of this device and how far away you are from your subject. I found it hard to be consistent. It does work with both eyes open which of course is its main draw.
