raysalute Posted September 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All as a newcomer to this site I am unsure how it works. Can anyone tell me please? I understand I can advertise a camera for sale but what happens if somebody would like to buy it? Do we exchange emails and agree the sale off-line and arrange payment privately? I am familiar with eBay but this site appears to be different. Any advice would be welcome!
Advertisement Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Hi raysalute, Take a look here Newcomer to Leica User Forum. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted September 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2010 Ray - Welcome to the Forum. I suggest visiting the buy and sell section (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/market/), have a look around, and look at some ads. It's pretty flexible how Forum members use the section. andybarton Posted September 27, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 27, 2010 Welcome to the forum Contact is made via email or Private Message and it is for the parties to agree a payment method. I would recommend PayPal. You should satisfy yourself as to the bonafides of the person you are dealing with.
raysalute Posted September 27, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted September 27, 2010 Hi All Thanks to everyone who took time out to reply-I didn't think my first message had left my computer but it apparently had so thats why I sent a second one! Sorry for doubling up. Will continue to monitor the sale and wanted ads to get the idea.
earleygallery Posted September 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted September 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's not rocket science, just load up some decent pics of the item, an accurate description, a price and wait for e mails! Paypal is convenient or you can ask for a bank payment. However, the benefit of the buy/sell forum is buying from people you may 'know' from their participation on the site, personally I'd be wary of buying from someone new - eBay can offer some degree of protection for buyers and you may find that a better medium for your purposes.
