farnz Posted September 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The World Penny Farthing Championship, which is held every 10 years, was run at Knutsford, Cheshire last weekend and attracts entries from all over the world. The event was very well patronised in Knutsford, which is a charming little village in rural Cheshire and the World Championship was, as always, run between 50 entrants over a kilometre-long course around the village green. And of course there was a brass band gently tootling in the background, a vintage car display and many bicycles ranging from boneshakers to hobby-horses with plently of Penny Farthings thrown in for good measure. The weather behaved properly, the ice-cream tent was queued all day as was the tea tent of course and it seems that a good day was had by all. It's just a pity that it's 10 years till the next one. I bumped into Chris Tribble who has started another thread in the Sports and Leisure forum so I thought I'd add a couple of views from my Digilux 2. Thanks for sparing the time to look and your comments are welcome. Pete.

pauledell Posted September 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2010 Pete, A great pair. Excellent composition and use of blur to add to the sense of motion. Paul
stuny Posted September 8, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2010 Pete - Speed and pennyfarthing are not things I associate with one another. Terrific shots for moment, composition and action.
