stunsworth Posted November 5, 2010 Share #41 Posted November 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) One black minilux paperweight on ebay before long! They sell - or at least they used to. I sold a Minilux with an E02 error a year or two ago. I was surprised it sold. I wanted a black Minilux at one point, they weren't that common. simon8202 Posted November 16, 2010 Share #42 Posted November 16, 2010 Well just bought a boxed Leica CM for the price of the repair quote so that's the end of the minilux for me! Will get it listed on ebay and see if there's any interest. Knowing my luck someone will buy it and then complain it doesn't work!

Will get it listed on ebay and see if there's any interest. Knowing my luck someone will buy it and then complain it doesn't work! I'm sure you'll like the CM. The extra features (particularly the hotshoe, and the "permanently settable" default flash modes - for example, flash off) are very worthwhile. The only disappointment for me is that, as the manual explains the incresed maximum shutter speed (over the Minilux) is not available at the very widest apertures (presumably because it can't fully open and close in the very shortest times). simon8202 Posted November 17, 2010 Share #45 Posted November 17, 2010 after all that I've just had an email from the dealer telling me the Cm had already been sold to somebody else (maybe someone on here?) Why it was still on their website and why it allowed me to put it in my basket and enter all my details I don't know but there we are. Back to square one! juergen Posted November 17, 2010 Share #47 Posted November 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Simon, why don't you get back to Leica and ask whether they can offer you an exchange service? They offered me a CM-Zoom in return for the defective Minilux for 360 Euro + VAT Juergen
simon8202 Posted November 17, 2010 Share #48 Posted November 17, 2010 It's a thought but I really don't want a zoom anything. The one reason I liked the minilux was the lens and the spectacular results it produces. I really believe its as good as the 35mm summicron asph I used to have! simon8202 Posted January 17, 2011 Share #49 Posted January 17, 2011 Well it is a funny old world. I just sold the broken Minilux, fully declared as such for £76! Seems a lot of money for a broken camera but I'm not complaining!
lincoln_m Posted January 19, 2011 Share #50 Posted January 19, 2011 Any one got any pics of Black Minilux's? In an I Love my Minilux sort of way? Regards, Lincoln
simon8202 Posted January 21, 2011 Share #51 Posted January 21, 2011 Here's my now departed one. Apparently the guy who bought it took it apart and fixed the 'Error 02' fault overnight! Sounds like just the genius the Minilux community ha been looking for! Welcome, dear visitor! Sounds like just the genius the Minilux community ha been looking for! Hah! I was watching your auction! I couldn't win yours, but I won another one this week for £50+s/h. Once I receive it I will try to repair, and post some update here if I succeed. K.
TONY COWAN Posted November 13, 2013 Share #53 Posted November 13, 2013 I just fired up my Minilux (40mm Summarit) and got the E01 code (and the lens not coming out) for the first time. Put in a fresh battery and that sorted the issue!!!! Tony Cowan:)
250swb Posted November 13, 2013 Share #54 Posted November 13, 2013 Sounds like just the genius the Minilux community ha been looking for! Maybe, but I think a greater genius would be the one that could circumvent the need to scroll through the 'menu' every time the camera was switched on to get to the 'just fire the f**king shutter and not the flash' option. digbyhp Posted November 14, 2013 Share #55 Posted November 14, 2013 Perhaps just get a used Contax T2 - more durable/reliable?
Torquinian Posted November 22, 2013 Share #56 Posted November 22, 2013 Hi I need a new 35mm compact, and have access to a minilux for £50 but it's got the eo2 error, is it still possible to service this error in the UK, and if so does anyone have an estimate on how much it'll cost? They can't do it any more, there are no spares left. Use it for a paper weight like I do!
Torquinian Posted December 3, 2013 Share #57 Posted December 3, 2013 Hi I need a new 35mm compact, and have access to a minilux for £50 but it's got the eo2 error, is it still possible to service this error in the UK, and if so does anyone have an estimate on how much it'll cost? To bring everyone up to date this error can no longer be repaired due to the frequency of it happening causing spares to run out.
