Hey Folks,

I really appreciate seeing the interest in pursuing this course with Michael Bass Designs. I've begun putting together an "interest list". If you'd like me to keep you updated on our progress, please send an email to troyfreund at gmail dot com and I will add you to the list! Michael is sending me a few test products now to try out with my DMRs. I'll let you know how it goes!

UPDATE: Michael has sent me some prototypes and I tried them out today. One of the highlights was the adapted cable to allow my R8/DMR to run off my Quantum Turbo Battery. The camera is at about 450+ exposures right now and still going well! Here's some snapshots of the gear I was looking at today: Michael Bass Designs for the DMR

It's a pity, but the link doesn't work.

That's very strange, Krauklis, as I just clicked on the link and it seems fine. Weird. I'll repost it to be safe. Am still testing the Quantum Turbo Battery with Michael's cable and so far so good! DMR users will get a LOT of actuations out of their camera with the Turbo! Very exciting!

Thanks for reposting the link. Now the link in #25 as well as the links in #27 work well. The solution looks interesting.

My reanimated batteries and the external power pack are also doing a good job.

(Study this thread, especially #61 and #87:

And this one, have a look at my remarks:

Sorry, Krauklis, your links did not work. They only took me to the main forum page.

Indeed, really strange, the same mystery here. Before posting my answer, I had tested these two links of course, and in the preview they worked.

We're making progress...a few of Michael's products are now available for the DMR. We're still testing the Tekkeon Battery solution and the Quantum Turbo cable. As soon as possible, we'll post news. For now though, here's some more pics from my testing of the current accessories--the cable release, intervalometer and AC adapter.

Just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Michael, taking voltage and amperage readings on the Leica AC adapter and the Digi-Power battery solution (sort of a portable AC adapter). Here's a pic of it, in proto-type stage, attached to the DMR.

Michael has really been demonstrating his commitment to making this project a reality! If you are a DMR user, you need to be ready for when we get this to market. It's gonna be real helpful!

I am down to one working DMR battery. As an interim solution I would like to get my second one rebuilt. Also please count me in for the external battery project. Will also join the mailing list that TreuFreund is assembling.

Treu, I missed yours of 23.09, just reviewed. Quick question: will the on-camera unit include female threaded hole for tripod?

Best wishes for success in this project.

If the mounted-below-the-camera battery option goes forward, it will likely occupy the tripod mount-point. If you want to use a tripod, I think it might be possible to rig up a mount to attach the battery to the tripod leg. Will keep you updated...have you sent me your email, via a direct message? I'd be happy to add you to the mailing list.

Hi Troy

I'm a new DMR user and after reading your post about Michael Bass solutions for DMR user I'm interesting in that solution. Count by me. I've only one battery that work fine but I know it will be not forever.

Thanks for your work to find Dmr Solution.
