Advertisement Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Hi Alan Philpotts, Take a look here Velvet Queen. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted August 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2010 Alan, A lovely flower. Great lighting, colors and sharpness. I believe I would crop some off the left hand side of the picture to balance it better. Paul
Ferry Zievinger Posted August 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2010 Wow! Alan, that is a great shot, I love the kinda circular "movement" yet the flower is hanging in a still. very nice rich colors, I think Paul is right it would be worth checking out a bit of crop from the side. Alan Philpotts Posted August 28, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted August 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Paul - Here is a version with the edge crop you suggested. Ferry and Ece - You are right about the motion. It was quite windy and the flower was rocking. I managed to catch it in focus at the end of a swing. The properties of the fine old lens helped too. (1/250 @ f/2.8). George and Virgil - Your kind comments are much appreciated. Thank you all, I am very glad that you enjoyed this one. pauledell Posted August 31, 2010 Share #11 Posted August 31, 2010 Paul - Here is a version with the edge crop you suggested. Alan, I like your cropped version, but I will admit the original may still be the best after all. Paul
