Advertisement Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Hi mattnnz, Take a look here X1 Print sizes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nippa Posted August 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2010 I've done posters at 30x20 inches and the detail is amazing. I tend to resample upwards with Photoshop Elements to create a larger file as the online printer that I use seems to like that more.
jsrockit Posted August 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 18, 2010 I've personally done 13x19 with no indication of any shortcomings.
Michael Hiles Posted August 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2010 I tend to resample upwards with Photoshop Elements... Nippa, What does this mean and how do you do it in Photoshop Elements? What does it give you that a smaller file does not? I presume you are not creating extra resolution out of nothing... Thanks
Guest badbob Posted August 19, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 19, 2010 I presume you are not creating extra resolution out of nothing...Thanks Actually that's the way it's done. Consider that a printer resolves 1440 DPI so at 19 inches wide you have 27360 dots wide. Since the image is 4272 pixels wide, that's a *lot* of interpolation. reginaldwatkins Posted August 19, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 19, 2010 I've printed several 16 x 25 and am very pleased with the results. Would try to print larger but that is the maximum size the company I use offers with their archival services.

Consider that a printer resolves 1440 DPI so at 19 inches wide you have 27360 dots wide. Since the image is 4272 pixels wide, that's a *lot* of interpolation. This is interesting. I thought that best quality was 300 DPI (this being the maximum the unaided eye can differentiate). If this is right - why 1440 dpi?
