Luke_Miller Posted August 22, 2010 Share #21 Posted August 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use an old Nikon SC-17, which can often be found used pretty cheaply. The current Nikon flashes are secured in the hot shoe via a locking pin and the SC-17 lacks the hole for the pin. Works great for the SF-24D though. Guest V64 Posted August 22, 2010 Share #22 Posted August 22, 2010 My thanks to Nicole and Luke for your answers. My researches uncovered an outfit called radioPopper who sell a Radio link driven by the InfraRed flash controls on a Canon (or Nikon). Why is it so difficult to engineer a similar 'radio blackbox link' to 'connect' the 4 (5?) pin flash connections on a Leica hotshoe to a Leica Flash? Nicoleica Posted August 22, 2010 Share #23 Posted August 22, 2010 I don't think that it's a technical problem as much as it is a viability problem. To engineer a device specific for the Leica TTL would probably cost quite a bit, and due to the low numbers of Leica cameras compared to the major Japanese manufacturers, it might take a very long time to recoup the cost of such development. Unless of course the unit price were to be very high, in which case they might sell even fewer units.
