Pauld111 Posted August 13, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just today taken delivery of a Nikon scanner which I bought off of ebay. I have a few basic questions, so please bear with me. In the Nikon Scan 4.0 software, how do I select it to scan the next negative on the strip? I am able to scan on the two extremes if I wish but do not know how to make it advance to the next negative... When I try prescan or scan after the first image has been done, it rescans the first image again, very frustrating. Another question is how do I turn on the ICE function? Thanks Paul

Pauld111 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted August 13, 2010 I solved the first one, still do not know how to turn on the ICE function.
andybarton Posted August 13, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2010 The ICE function is called something different, from memory. I don't have my scanner where I am, but I think that there is a "Toolbox" or something similar. The ICE and sharpening functions are in a list there. I will be able to add more when I get home. juergen Posted August 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 13, 2010 It is in the so called Tool Chest which can be displayed by clicking the TOOLS-Button in the control area of the scan window. Juergen
Mattis Posted August 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 13, 2010 It is called "digital ICE 4". Mark the box in the window with all the other settings.
stunsworth Posted August 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 13, 2010 Remember, ICE doesn't work with traditional b&w films.
Jaybob Posted August 16, 2010 Share #7 Posted August 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use a Nikon LS2000 scanner, and when I first started using it, I tried to tough it out for WEEKS using the Nikon Software. You can really make your interaction with your scanner much more pleasant by going to SilverFast: Scanner Software, Printer Software and Software for Digital Camera and Imaging :: LaserSoft Imaging and spending the extra dough and get the version just above the basic. Stealth3kpl Posted August 16, 2010 Share #10 Posted August 16, 2010 Click on the "Color" tab and scroll down to choose kodak. Then there are a few ektar profiles to choose from. (Four for Ektar 100). Pete
