moikle Posted January 5, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2007 A lovely picture of something we don't seem to get much of in the UK in recent times. Certainly evokes good memories. Mike

John Maio Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted January 5, 2007 Very Nice......please send some our way........or....... maybe I should be happy Albert, The sky is clouding over and yet another storm is moving into New Mexico. Its supposed to be fast moving so we should not get too much snow, perhaps a rain/snow/flurries sequence. I get such a kick about how the media reports this winter's weather in the U.S. Just because the media centers are in New York, and the weather there is warm, they tend to forget about the rest of this country. Here in the mountain west, we've had three major snow storms since mid-December and Colorado and western Kansas have been hit the hardest. They have had to heli-drop bales of hay to starving cattle in many places and some reports have as many as 3,500 cattle that have died of starvation in the deep snow. Here's one news article that has it right: My Way News - 3rd Snowstorm Looms for Hard-Hit Plains Maybe when the big city people have to pay huge prices for their steak dinners come spring, it might dawn on them that not everyone had a warm, dry winter. But - knowing how self-absorbed people are, they'll just complain that the ranchers are gouging them
