How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 1000 kB (2000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

Thanks Yves.

 

I've had the X1 for about a month or so, but its taken me a while to understand it and get the best out of it.

 

The images are hand held HDR's taken at Burnham on Sea on thew sea front.

 

I also getting hooked on the black and white images at the moment. Hope to get a M9 one day - but I find the X1 is a great camera for me.

SO really, off by 80 pixels.. why so uptight.. why such a small limit.. it's not hosted here, it's not a bandwidth issue, 1024 should be a minimum for sharing photos.. sheesh. So arbitrary. In fact, it doesn't even conform to any sense of standard image size.

 

Doesn't matter.. I stopped coming here for a few reasons.. the uptight nature was the main one.. guess I'm off again.

Of course it's bandwidth. Some of us pay for access per MB.

 

There has to be a limit on dimension and file size somewhere. Andreas has chosen the rules here and image size limits here. What's so difficult that you can't stick to them?

 

"Oh, just let me post a shot 80 pixels bigger and half a MB larger than the rules..."

 

"Well, you let him post a +80 pixel shot. Let me do one 200 pixels larger than that..."

 

Rules are there for everyone to stick to, to give everyone a decent forum experience. The vast majority of members understand this and stick to them.
