Took a walk today with the film M, but as usual carried the X1 as well. It is difficult to accept that such an old and diminutive camera can stun with it's files, but it does, and some. I love it.

Straight out of camera, simply reduced for the forum.

Gary, what beautiful pictures. Evidence of superb results from a classic camera in the hands of an expert photographer. Very well done.

The second one shows the natural beauty of New Zealand landscapes.

Thank you David, I have a definite bond with the camera, having traveled through parts of Europe with it.

A temporary fling with the Leica T, (now sold) and my other current favourite, the X-Vario has meant that the X1 has sat idle longer than necessary.

Great to be out and about using it again.

The closeup was as close as the AF would work, I wished I had the Elpros with me. And the waterfall was in a local park.

It's that time of year, the weeds are sprouting in the paddocks and these seeds are popping up everywhere. Our grand-daughter loves them, calls them "Fairies".

I tried the X1 on them, (and the X-Vario, but this is in the other post), in combination with the Elpro V1b. Given the 24mm lens this wasn't anywhere near close enough, so I tacked on the Elpro V1a as well, so a pair of Elpro's. No way should this work, and in all honesty optically it is possibly poor, but it gave me a close up result, so who cares about the finer points of optics etc.

Then I cropped it to get a bit closer.

I remember, in my youth, my father, a geologist, used to describe to me how the flat plains of Illinois were the result of huge glaciers scraping the land flat. He would stare out at it as if it put him in a trance. I remember thinking how boring it looked; I thought he was nuts. Now, I find that I am just as mesmerized by the expanse as he was.
