Louis Posted July 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) (I hope this is the right forum!) Dlux4 Luray Caverns, in Virginia, was discovered in 1878 by a tinsmith and local photographer. It took 4,000,000 centuries for the nature to make this ten stories size breathtaking “Cathedral”!... I highly recommend everyone who goes to that region to visit this amazing wonder. DSchmidt Posted July 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2010 Beautiful caverns Louis. These are the kind of shots that HDR was meant for I think. Have you ever played with HDR?
Louis Posted July 25, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted July 25, 2010 Thanks, David! Yes, I have the software and tried a few some time ago; but didn't like it very much! I gives a "cartoonish" look that I don't like very much!... As for these shots, I think the light and the shades work better and gives a better mood of the place! ... Maybe I should make some tests to see!?..
stuny Posted July 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 25, 2010 Louis - Stunning. The better photo is the first for capturing more of the gradeur, though the second serves well to show us detail.
Louis Posted July 26, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted July 26, 2010 Thank you, Stuny!... I think with a small sensor; this is as far as one can go!...
allamande Posted July 26, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 26, 2010 Louis, I think this pair illustrates both the intricate beauty and the slight claustrophobic atmosphere in this place. Ece

Louis Posted July 27, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted July 27, 2010 Ece, if you are claustrophobic, this is certainly not for you! But the beauty can overcome that; and, it is so huge that I really don't know how important the claustrophobic could become!... It is the second time I am visiting this place and I really enjoyed it!... I should have had a camera with bigger sensor to get all the details!... Herb, thanks very much; I appreciated your encouraging words! Very best,
