likalar Posted July 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 25, 2010 You fixed it up quite nicely, IMO. The original was overexposed quite a bit, obviously. I'm guessing you had the camera on auto exposure. The camera mostly saw the large area of dark foliage, and exposed accordingly. Unfortunately, the subject was ignored in the exposure evaluation, and was rendered too bright. What could you have done better? Maybe a quick stab at the +- adjustment, reducing the exposure by at least 1 stop or so, would have helped. In the heat of the moment, you did quite well. Real nice save! Did the subject stay long enough for extra shots? Larry
albert Posted July 25, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted July 25, 2010 Larry, You deserve more than me just pushing a "thanks-button". The time, thought, and energy you took to help someone like me understand this art-form better is greatly appreciated. Maybe there needs to be a: "greatly appreciated" button to push. Louis Posted July 25, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 25, 2010 Albert, I think your second version is as good as it could be!... I like how you precessed it! David, on my monitor, your version is a little too dark!

albert Posted July 25, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted July 25, 2010 Dave, I like yours just as much as I like mine. Personally, I would vote that a criticism of settings, pp, size, frames, you name it.......should include the improved photographt. Understanding, of course, the limitations placed on the critic by the small file-size.
