i was looking for leica MP but i saw MP classic limited edition with 50mm cron set at my local store.

do you know the difference between usual MP and MP classic ??

i already ask the store manager about that but i'm not sure with the answer.

he said that the classic is all mechanical without any electric supply.

i know that all MP is all mechanical except for metering.

i also check the price, i feel that the classic with 50mm cron combination doesn't have much different in price just slight expensive.

i still consider which one i want, what is your choice ?

Leica has a history with their MP's. I think, but I can be wrong the M4-P is a kind of first MP. I thought the MP classic is more like M6 non ttl and the MP is more like the M7 with a on/off switch. Like the M6 it's only metering is electric, but the M7 is not. So I think you can compare with the m6 and m7 diffence.

A Photo Visual Library on Leica MP Classic outfit - Part V - MIR Image Library

Nice set but it's of most appeal to collectors, and they'd want in boxed and unused........

No advantage over a regular MP, and lacks the meter, Hmmmm not sure which I'd go for. I'd probably choose the Classic just to be different, and sod the collectors!
