h00ligan Posted July 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm curious if anyone is using their x1 with the neck strap. I have expressed previously concern that they choose metal keyring style o rings to attach the strap. For those who use it - doesn't it scuff the finish? Thoughts? Advertisement Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Hi h00ligan, Take a look here X1 neck strap design question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
RichardM8 Posted July 15, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2010 I don't use it myself but the body has small protective bumpers where the rings could touch it. The rings shouldn't be able to touch the metal part of the body I guess?... I hope?...
jsrockit Posted July 15, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2010 I use a different neck strap with metal rings and it hasn't ruined the X1 in any way.
wda Posted July 15, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 15, 2010 I have used the Leica strap since new in March, until today when I fitted the wrist strap. Recently I have found a preference for using the neck strap wound as a wrist strap when 'in the street'. The camera is less conspicuous that way. No problems at all with scuffing. The neck strap is a very strong strap which I shall retain as an option.
h00ligan Posted July 15, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted July 15, 2010 Alright, thanks for the info all! I didn't notice any bumpers, I'll have to look harder.
fotografr Posted July 15, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 15, 2010 I don't use it myself but the body has small protective bumpers where the rings could touch it. The rings shouldn't be able to touch the metal part of the body I guess?... I hope?... Additionally, the strap itself prevents contact between the rings and the body. There's no problem at all with the design.
georgio Posted July 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am using the supplied leather strap, but as soon as my Luigi half case arrives, I will use that strap. GEO
