leicashot Posted July 18, 2010 Share #10 Posted July 18, 2010 Funny enough, this lens renders bokeh so accurately I'm surprised it has such a large following. Actually compared to the Noctilux and Hex 50/1.2 Limited, this lens has 'no character' and is quite 'boring' in it's signature, which i like as I prefer to shoot with lenses that's bokeh doesn't distract form the in focus area. If that's the signature you want, then you have it. There is no 50mm lens in the world that can render the OOF areas in such an accurately boring way ;-)

eleanorbrown Posted July 20, 2010 Share #12 Posted July 20, 2010 I was on the B&H "notify by email when in stock" list for months. I know from past experience that B&H can get something in stock and you will never get email notification. My solution to this is to literally check the B&H site for the hard to get item I want several times every day hoping to catch it listed on their site. In the case of the 50 lux recently, apparently the one in stock was listed on line for only a short time and I put in my order right away and apparently that was the only one they had in stock. I never got any email notification of "item in stock". Eleanor ...I'm a bit puzzled - does this purchase mean B&H does not have or operate a waiting list for this lens? peter_n Posted July 20, 2010 Share #13 Posted July 20, 2010 Eleanor you never got the email notification because you bought it too quickly! The item never made it over to the form or db that sends out the alert emails because it was sold almost immediately. They probably batch process these things overnight and your lens had a "not in stock" status already. This is almost certainly the reason you're not getting some other email notifications. Same thing has happened with me and B&H.
