farnz Posted July 4, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Michael, I'm a potential starter. I can get a train from London at half-past early o'clock that gets me into Piccadilly for 8.49 but getting across London at early o'clock without getting up just before I've gone to bed is proving to be a bit of a problem. I'll let you know if I can make it. Pete.
bobfrance Posted July 4, 2010 Share #8 Posted July 4, 2010 Thanks for spreading the word Mike. Just popped over from RFF to add my two penneth. This is what's going on, on the day... "On 17 July, Manchester city centre will be taken over by a range of performances as part of the city’s biennial micro-festival Hazard MMX. Performances include a woman crushed by a knitted boulder, synchronized swimming in Piccadilly Gardens, 100 ‘Dorothys’ marching in unison and Scratch ’n’ Sniff cinema." More info here. http://www.piccadillymanchester.com/...ty-centre.aspx Now if a woman being crushed by a knitted boulder can't tempt anyone into town then nothing will! I'll be there of course. Bob. elansprint72 Posted July 4, 2010 Share #9 Posted July 4, 2010 ........." a woman crushed by a knitted boulder, synchronized swimming in Piccadilly Gardens, 100 ‘Dorothys’ marching in unison and Scratch ’n’ Sniff cinema." That all? Sounds like an average, dull, Thursday evening in 1970s Manchester to me. I'm working that week-end, enjoy yourselves.
Michael Markey Posted July 4, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted July 4, 2010 Thanks Bob.I knew that you`d do it properly with a link and all. I should have said " from an original idea by Bob France". Are we meeting up in the station ?
stunsworth Posted July 4, 2010 Share #11 Posted July 4, 2010 Thanks for spreading the word Mike.Just popped over from RFF to add my two penneth. Perhaps we should all turn up with custard pies and have an inter-forum fight in Picadilly Gardens.
bobfrance Posted July 4, 2010 Share #12 Posted July 4, 2010 Ha ha! I've got no copyright on it Mike! Yep, meeting place is the usual cafe to the left of the escalators in Piccadilly at 10am. My mobile number is available for anybody who wants to catch up with us later on. A pie fight could be good, but I think we'd have to raise our game beyond that to even register amid the performance art maelstrom that that seems to be planned. Maybe if we formed two human pyramids? Perhaps we could have a competition to knit a roll of Tri-X? I'm thinking on my feet here.
