Greetings,

The M8 image you posted looks looks blured to me.

Also, on my monitor, the people look overexposed and blown out without detail.

Of course, it might be that my monitor is off.

I wonder if the X1's IS and spot exposure mode would have helped.

Thanks for posting.

The water puppets are blurred due to their being in motion. If you look at the hanging bamboo door to the left of the stage, you will find it is quite sharp. Due to the huge dynamic range, which is always a problem with stage lighting, it was next to impossible to get the stage background decently lit without hugely overexposing the puppets. This was taken at -2/3 EV.

Three photos of the evening concert in the Lorenzkirche in Nuremberg with different parameters.

Conductor Matthias Ank and the Bachchor St. Lorenz and Lorenz Brass.

I use the Dlux-4 with IS switched on. All pictures at 2,8 and 12,8 mm (60 mm eq.).

The first picture at 3200 ASA, 1/100. The camera uses 3 MB here (SCN high ISO), therefore only 10% cropped.

The second picture: 400 ASA, 1/40. Here 10 MB (SCN party), 45% cropped.

The third picture: 400 ASA, 1/10, also 10 MB (SCN hdr), 45% cropped

The IS works very well.
