MEB Posted June 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is a neighborhood next to mine that is characterized by very small houses with very large gardens that come up to the street. A summer walk through there with a camera is very satisfying. M9 with 75 cron asph. LR 3 with NIK plug-ins. This time I reduced for the web posting using Photoshop CS5 and I think it preserved the sharpening much better than the LR export command. Thanks for looking, Mark Blumer
Advertisement Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hi MEB, Take a look here Street-side flowers. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DSchmidt Posted June 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2010 I like the 1st one the best Mark. But the center of the flower does look a little soft in the focus.
MEB Posted June 27, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 27, 2010 Dave Thank you. I'm still having trouble reducing the size of the picture for posting here. For comparison, here is a link to my Flickr site to the same picture at approximately the same size. It too is a jpg but it has not been restricted to 960 pixel width. It is obviously sharper. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4073/4738619374_c729d4856a_b.jpg Mark Blumer Edit: I think I now have it figured out. I have been "exporting" the photos from LR 3 (for web posting) at much too high a resolution. I've had it set on 300 ppi. When I reduced the output resolution to 72 ppi the result appears much sharper.

stuny Posted June 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted June 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mark - Beautiful shots, and #2 is very dramatic with the sparseness and 3D effect.
