A bright, sunny day in Santa Cruz. (sorry folks :-D) Had to duck inside to get a shot. Good shooting in the coming year to all.

Mykonos Café, one of our favorite little Greek places. Early New Year's Day dinner this evening, and the waiters said the place was really jumping last night!

It sure is fun to see what people are posting. My contribution has something of a Happy New Year theme, unless you had a few too many last night. In that case, I apologize for the reminder.

Guest Metroman

Spent the holidays at our place on the beach near Bognor Regis. Took the D2 and the MP but will wait until I get home to process the films.

[Low winter sun over the English Channel]

[My wife is French and every year the relatives send over some small, sticky and very sweet cakes for New Years day. Believe me one is more than enough!!]

My New Years resolution is to dust off and rejuvenate my fathers old IIIa and IIIc and give them a new lease of life.

Happy New Year to all on the forums and may we all capture that elusive picture in our 'minds eye'.

Seeing as Andy said no motor, I pumped up the tyres and rode my bike to return some goodies.

This enthusiast has a most interesting room!

And now I ride home (about 20 minutes) before lunch. I used my M7, and a 15mm Heliar.

Happy New Year everyone. This is, in fact, my first post. Hopefully I get everything right.

New Years day here in the Niagara Peninsula started out sunny and bright after a rainy New Years Eve. Everyone got wet at Niagara Falls on New Years Eve!

However, the sun didn't last. About 20 minutes after this picture was taken, the clouds on the horizon were everywhere.

The lake in this picture, Lake Gibson, is an artificial lake formed as the head pond of a generating station over 100 years ago.

My wife and I started the new year as firefighters (!)

Time statement:

31.DEFC 23:50 LMT: I looked out of the north window and I saw that the Garbage Can was on fire (!) 3 meters high flames were coming out the the fireplace.

I told Gunhild (my wife) that we had a fire outside (and she being an old sailor) - she reacted promtly and we made the the gardenhose ready for firefighting. Within 5 minutes we had extingushed the fire :-)) Water-jet makes a lot of steam - whereby you kill a fire very quickly :-))

At 01.JAN 00:05 LMT: We called the local Police and informed about the fire - they did not care as long as the fire was extinguished :-((

Later that day we learned that some of the local kids had dropped fire-crackers into our garbage can - and therefore the fire had started.

I have told the local school teachers - that they must tell the kids - that whenever they see a fire they must warn adults. If the kids had told us ealier - we would had shut the fire down very easily :-))

All the best - Svenning.

The streets in London may no longer be paved with gold but it seems that this is where it's ended up. :)

You just can't get this kind of coverage anywhere else ;)

Again, this is exactly what we were hoping for!

Andy, you must be over the moon with the success of your wife's idea and your implementation.

I had thought that a web exhibition display would look good, but it may be a problem unless you arbitrarily selected one image per poster.

What insight into our private lives and localities!

A Happy New Year to you.

David
