Yea just as one cannot unsubscribe from his mailing list, despite sending an email and not being a subscriber to his private party. As for the survey it smacks of the Peter Paul setup

Anyone could do a survey, why not?

But why so negative, why not say how you see the future of DRFs? Me, I reckon Leica should keep them as is, just make them as reliable and robust as possible, and more affordable. Ahem. Look forward to reading the results.

I'm with David

why on earth not do it? - the article might well be interesting, added to which it's likely that Leica will be listening, after all, Sean was on the August trip to Leica before the launch of the M9.

Can't see that it does any harm to voice one's opinions.

Good free idea. ;)

(a) Yes

(B) R-D1 and R-D1s

2. If you own a DRF camera, why have you chosen it? What do you value most about this type of camera?

(a) Work like an M3 with AE facilities.

(B) Shooting both eyes open.

3. Are you interested in buying a DRF camera at some point in the future?

Yes

4. Things That Should Be Preserved in a Future Leica DRF:

(a) M lenses compatibility.

(B) Optical Viewfinder.

© Optical Rangefinder.

(d) Small size and weight.

(e) Quiet shutter noise.

5. Things That Should Be Added or Changed in a Future Leica DRF:

(a) 1:1 or at least 0.85x viewfinder.

(B) No mandatory chimping. Manual controls like film Ms' or Epson's.

© No mandatory coding. All M lenses should be usable as is if need be.

Not sure how useful body sealing may be when lenses are not sealed but i've been using Ms for 30+ years w/o sealing so i don't care much about this so far.

Hi there

I understand what you're saying. But a little moisture in a film camera isn't important. I've had 3 digital cameras die as a result of water. If the dials and body and LCD were sealed one could relax about that.

None of the dead cameras was a leica by the way, but a Ricoh died as a result of one little splash.
