masao Posted June 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) hello: i'm leaving for brazil in a few days and am wondering if i should pack the 3 lenses i currently own: 35 cron, 50 nocti, and 75 lux, or leave one at home. the 35 cron obviously goes, but maybe it's redundant to bring both the 50/1 and 75/1.4? which would you choose? i will mostly be taking candid photos of my friends in day and evening light in rio de janeiro. there is also a wedding. appreciate any advice here, thanks. Advertisement Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi masao, Take a look here M8 Lenses for Brazil trip. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted June 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 9, 2010 Just take all of them. Since you are going to Brazil, I'd be more worried about taking some precautions to keep such nice gear safe in the street than which lenses to pack:rolleyes:
jaapv Posted June 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 9, 2010 Welcome to the forum. Unless the geographical location is going to change your style of shooting dramatically, why not take the lenses you would take for such an occasion at home?
dpattinson Posted June 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 9, 2010 personally, I'd take the 35 and 50 and leave the 75 at home... unless you plan on doing a lot of headshots.
jaapv Posted June 9, 2010 Share #5 Posted June 9, 2010 And if you are doing the touristy thing in town, or do family shots indoors, you'll need something wider.
browncycle Posted June 10, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 10, 2010 You can always not use the lens you brought, but you cannot use any that you left at home. It's like taking extra film, or grabbing a jacket if the weather turns cool. Nothing worse than the gear you own but left at home. Those little lenses don't take up that much room anyway. That's what I'd do...

wstotler Posted June 15, 2010 Share #11 Posted June 15, 2010 If you have to choose just two, take the 35 and 50. Need to get closer, as with the 75? Step up with the 50. Be sure to post shots and/or the link to your Flickr stream when you get back! Cheers! Will
